It's not like ordinary Volunteering!
Citizen Advocacy South Australia (CASA) began as a “demonstration project” during the International Decade of Disabled Persons. Today, CASA is an independent and non-profit community organisation based in Adelaide. We are funded by the Federal Government under the National Disability Advocacy Program.
CASA is guided by its Board of Management – a group of local citizens who volunteer their time and service because of their deep commitment to social justice and better lives for people with intellectual disability.
Our program manager, two coordinators and administration assistant form a small but dedicated staff team whose role is to encourage, establish and support Citizen Advocacy relationships within the local community. Unlike other advocacy programs, our staff do not advocate themselves and all individuals who do take on advocacy roles do so in a freely given, unpaid capacity.
Everyone gets involved at Citizen Advocacy!
